Similar to the Montford Point Marines, The Tuskegee Airman, and Mother Theresa, the Six Triple Eight now has the nation’s highest civilian honor granted to less than 200 individuals or organizations since 1776. Cummings’ own story is one of perseverance, resilience, and tenacity.
The 6888th’s history is the subject of a documentary (available on Tubi and Amazon) and a Netflix movie.
