Latorial Faison is a Virginia poet, author, professor, and veteran military spouse born and raised in Southampton County, VA. This award-winning poet graduated from Southampton High School in 1991, completed a doctoral degree in Education at Virginia State University in 2022. Faison has authored over fifteen books, including, the trilogy collection 28 Days of Poetry Celebrating Black History, and The Missed Education of the Negro: an Examination of the Black Segregated Education Experience.This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
