📖 Book Reading! 📖
Join us for a special reading session of our book 'Our Home, Our Stories: Voices of Migrant Domestic Workers in Singapore' on 23 March, Sunday, 3PM at Book Bar!
'Our Home, Our Stories' offers a look through the eyes of domestic workers as they share real-life stories, from childhoods in mountain villages to rogue agents and difficult employers, and that one thing they all suffer from the most: homesickness, and the pain of leaving their families behind – in Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and India.
Our contributors, Jo Ann Dumlao, Kina Hidayah Kastari, Novia Arluma, and Miriam Escander will be reading their stories at the event. The session will be moderated by the book’s editor Karien van Ditzhuijzen, a long-time HOME volunteer who conducts writing workshops at HOME’s shelter.
Books will be available for sale at $20 each!
