On Friday, 8th March 2024 in conjunction with The Hong Kong International Literary Festival and Peel Streer Poetry, Akin Jeje, stalwart of Hong Kong’s English literary scene will launch his long-awaited 2nd poetry collection WRITE ABOUT HERE at Social Room!Hosted by veteran MC Henrik Hoeg, the event will run from 7:30 until late. It will consist of two rounds, with the main presentation in the first round, and an open mic section in the second. For the first round, Akin will read a short selection of his own work, and then guest poets will read their favourite poems.
After a short break, the event will reconvene with an open mic section when anyone who wishes to read can perform. There will be a list beforehand, so please speak to Henrik if you’re interested in performing.
A limited supply of books will be on sale beforehand, so make sure to come early. Books will be priced at $98, but for the special price of $120, you may also receive a copy of Jeje’s first poetry collection SMOKED PEARL. All purchases will be signed by the author.
