About this Event
Join Paul and his border collie, Scout, for an evening at the Lescar to launch Paul's new book, . The book tells Paul’s story through his working class childhood and into his very different life in mountain rescue, which saw him and Scout develop an incredibly strong bond and spend many hundreds of hours in the hills on call-outs.
Paul will be discussing the reality of volunteering for mountain rescue, the complexity of search dog training and the power of the outdoors in turning his life around following a career in Sheffield steelworks and in adjusting to a new way of life when the latent health consequences of working in a steel mill finally caught up with him.
The event is free of charge but donations can be made to mountain rescue on the door. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
