About this Event
This book embodies papers and other invited texts presented at the Moreton Bay Bicentennial Commemoration Conference held at Redcliffe on 7 September 2024.
The Bicentenary was the vision of three historical societies - The Royal Historical Society of Queensland, History Redcliffe, and the Bribie Island Historical Society. This book records the events which comprised the foundation of the first Settlement in what was to become the modern State of Queensland.
The publication of this book was made possible by the generous financial support of the Queensland Branch of the Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL), its President, Major General Stephen Day DSC AM and the RSL Executive; an the Royal Historical Society of Queensland, History Redliffe, and Bribie Island Historical Society.
All associated with the Bicentenary join together to thank Melinda Serico for her kindness and generosity in the gift of her painting, 'Red Cliff Living', featured on the cover of this book and in the promotional material.
