About this Event
The Green Dip is a visual manifesto of an ongoing research project conducted by The Why Factory at TU Delft examining greening solutions for cities and architectural strategies used to incorporate vegetation into buildings. It offers ways to reintroduce nature into our cities, imagining a worldwide urban forest — from Beijing to Singapore, Dubai, Moscow, Kinshasa, Paris, New York, or Sao Paulo. The Green Dip proposes a database of plant species for designers to easily incorporate into their buildings and even dreams of a software, The Green Maker, to assist in this process.
Amid the climate emergency, The Green Dip is a manifesto for reintroducing nature into our homes and transforming our relationship with the environment. It demonstrates that agriculture, forestry, and organic production can catalyse alternative approaches to urbanisation.
The Green Dip will be presented at the Nieuwe Instituut during the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, dedicated to the theme Nature of Hope. Join us on Thursday, October 10 at 20.00 h, for a presentation by the book’s co-author Winy Maas, followed by a panel discussion with city makers and researchers.
The event will be held in English.
