Reflections from the Inside brings together five essays by Indigenous scholars from Brazil, translated into English for the first time. Their research explores critical themes such as territorial disputes, the demarcation of Indigenous lands, the transmission of ancestral knowledge, and the role of Indigenous women in academia and activism. The book also examines how Indigenous scholars use tools like photography and ethnography—once wielded to oppress them—to advocate for their communities and rights.
The event will feature a panel discussion with four distinguished speakers: Braulina Aurora Baniwa, Shirley Djukurnã Krenak, Daniele Guajajara, and Maria Silvaneide Faustino Nogueira, moderated by Kristal Bivona.
