About this Event
Celebrating the Publication of "Squirrels on Earth and Stars Above"
A Collection of Writings and Lectures by Peter Warshall
Edition Hors-Sujet
Join us for an evening of remembrance and celebration as we unveil the first published collection of the late great Manical Naturalist, Squirrels on Earth and Stars Above. A generalist ecologist with a special enthusiasm for natural history, ornithology, hydrology, wastewater systems, and environmental politics, Warshall (1943-2013) influenced a generation of countercultural field biologists, poets, eco-tinkerers, and activists. He was an editor for the Whole Earth Review and CoEvolution Quarterly, an ecosystem designer for Biosphere 2, a lecturer at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, and an elected member of the Bolinas Community Public Utility District. Assembled from his personal archive, this book showcases his innovative thinking on science, poetics, environmental citizenship, and the place of our species on the living planet.
