Long time Peel Street Poetry stalwart and all around wonderful individual Dr. Peter Kennedy is launching his second collection of work. It is a book of prose and poetry, taking you from Communist Czechoslovakia to the outer reaches of the English language, from contemporary China and Japan to Cork County Ireland, all while dabbling in ballad, cento, clerihew, (heroic) couplet, elegy, ghazal, jisei, pantoum, rosc, rondolet, sestina, sonnet, triolet and villanelle. There are expressions of love (for the living and the dead), verse about friends (now and then); reminiscences and nostalgia.
Come join the celebration. Free entry (though please buy a copy of the book, of course) and 2-4-1 drinks until 9pm!
