Join award-winning poet Ender Başkan for the Sydney launch of Two Hundred Million Musketeers, his debut collection exploring the complexities of new parenthood and family life, and his anxieties about the future his children will grow up in.
Başkan will be in conversation with Toby Fitch at Better Read Than Dead, with an introduction by Gabriel Curtin.

Ender Başkan is a Melbourne-based poet, novelist, small-press publisher and bookseller. The the winner of the 2021 Overland Judith Wright Poetry Prize, his poems have been published in HEAT, Meanjin, Cordite, Unusual Work and Best of Australian Poems. He has also published a novel, A Portrait of Alice as a Young Man. He is the co-founder of Vre Books press, Agog poetry readings and Study experimental space.

Toby Fitch (he/they) is a poet, editor, essayist and teacher. He is a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Sydney and former poetry editor of Overland. His eight books of poetry include Where Only the Sky had Hung Before (Vagabond Press, 2019), Sydney Spleen (Giramondo Publishing, 2021), and the forthcoming Or, An Autobiography (Upswell Publishing, 2026). His first full-length book of poetry Rawshock won the Grace Leven Prize for Poetry 2012. Born in London, he has lived in Sydney on unceded Gadigal land since the age of 3.

Gabriel Curtin is an artist and writer living as an uninvited guest on unceded Gadigal Country. He is a current PhD candidate and sessional academic at UNSW ADA. His research seeks to trace the production of social formations via the various cultural languages evoked by the popular iced lolly ' Calippo.' Some of his work can be found in Best of Australian Poems 2024, Meanjin, Minarets, rabbit, Cordite, Un Magazine and elsewhere.
