Born and raised in Nelson, Jane Hawkins returns home for the launch of her first children's story - My Granny Ali Lives In The Stars. A 'heart' project, this story is written after the loss of her Mum, Alison, in April last year.
The story was written for Alison's grandchildren, those who are here and those who are yet to come, offering an ongoing relationship and a reminder of the eternal connection that lies between loved ones whether they are here on this earth or not.
Knowing that she is not alone in the experience of losing a loved one, Jane feels compelled to share this story and to open the possibility of bringing forward the feelings of lightness and connection in the face of loss (among the many emotions that are present).
