About Candlelight Bridge & Cara Lopez Lee
In 1910, 12-year-old Candelaria Rivera and her family flees across the desert to America to escape the Mexican Revolution. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Yan Chi Wong flees the Chinese Revolution, also bound for America, where he’s nicknamed Yankee. Candlelight Bridge is the story of how they become unlikely partners in a struggle to survive the American Dream.

She’s a winner of The Moth StorySLAM and appears in many storytelling shows. Cara and her husband live in Ventura, where they tend a certified wildlife habitat full of birds, bees, and butterflies.
