Neil Sonnekus is a lwriter, filmmaker, playwright, journalist, local bus driver and chess fanatic. His first novel, Son, which dealt with his father as a World War ll Prisoner of War, was long-listed for the Sunday Times Literary Award in South Africa in 2018. He won platinum and silver awards for a feature script and short film respectively in Houston, USA, in 2003.
