Dunedin Public Libraries, Ōtepoti UNESCO City of Literature and Cold Hub Press warmly invite you to celebrate the publication of Biology Field Trip, a new collection of poems by Dunedin poet Jenny Powell. As the title of the book suggests, the poet takes the reader on a unique Biology Field Trip. Diving beneath a poetic surface, she offers a different way of seeing the natural world, with multiple perspectives and forms, acute observation, imaginative flair and her usual streaks of humour.
Travelling on a Kororā Little Blue Penguin raft, flying with adult Ngaro Huruhuru Native Bees, assessing the architectural features of a seal colony, and discovering the world’s rarest whale are just some of the moving and memorable experiences on offer, in these transformative journeys.
Joining Jenny will be Kay McKenzie Cooke and Paddy Richardson.
