Alongside JP Seabright, the event includes readings from a fabulous trio of poets, all local to Leytonstone: Meryl Pugh, Michael McKimm and Jo Morris Dixon.
This will be followed by an Open Mic. There are 6 places available for this, on a first come, first served basis. If you're interested in reading in one of these 3-5 minute slots, please put your name down when you arrive.

JP SEABRIGHT
JP Seabright is a queer disabled writer living in London. They have four solo pamphlets published: Traum/A (fifthwheelpress, 2023); The Insomniac’s Almanac (kith books, 2023); No Holds Barred (Lupercalia Press, 2022); Fragments from Before the Fall (Beir Bua Press, 2021 / Sunday Mornings at the River 2023) and the collaborative works: GenderFux (Nine Pens Press, 2022) and MACHINATIONS (Trickhouse Press, 2022) both of which were shortlisted in the Saboteur Awards as Best Collaborative Work in their respective years. She explore themes of gender, sexuality, trauma and the climate crisis in their work spanning poetry, prose, experimental and audio/visual pieces, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and Forward Prize. MERYL PUGH
Meryl Pugh’s latest publication is a work of creative non-fiction, Feral Borough (Penned in the Margins, 2022). She is the author of three pamphlets - Wife of Osiris (Verve Poetry Press, 2021), The Bridle (Salt, 2011) and Relinquish (Arrowhead Press, 2007) - and one full collection. Natural Phenomena (Penned in the Margins, 2018) was a Poetry Book Society Guest Choice and longlisted for the inaugural Laurel Prize. She is a core tutor on the Poetry School's MA in Writing Poetry, holds a PhD in Critical and Creative Writing from University of East Anglia, where she taught for nearly ten years, and is currently at work on her second collection.
MICHAEL MCKIMM
Originally from north Antrim, Michael McKimm has lived in London for many years, where he is a librarian at the Geological Society. His most recent poetry collection is Because we could not dance at the wedding (Worple, 2023) and he has edited two anthologies: MAP: Poems after William Smith’s Geological Map of 1815 (2015) and The Tree Line: Poems for Trees, Woods & People (2017). His poems were recently included in the anthologies Queering the Green: Post-2000 Queer Irish Poetry (Lifeboat, 2021) and Windfall: Irish Nature Poems to Inspire and Connect (Hachette, 2023).www.michaelmckimm.co.uk
JO MORRIS DIXON
Jo Morris Dixon's debut poetry pamphlet I told you everything was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2021. She has individual poems published in the following places: Oxford Poetry, Ambit, The Poetry Review, Poetry Wales, bath magg and in 100 Queer Poems.
