Join us for our second annual Book Fair On The Square event at The Studio On The Square in Petersburg, IL with partial proceeds benefiting the Petersburg Public Library! We are capturing the magic of that book fair feeling for grown ups. Last year was our first rodeo and we learned tons. It was wildly successful and we also took away plenty of ideas for this year.We are excited to share that we have invited other area bookstores to join us to ensure there are plenty of books to choose from! There will be FIVE bookstores in attendance. Our Town Books of Jacksonville, IL, Comic Wreck of the Chicago area, Smut Wagon of Macomb, IL, and The Sly Fox Bookstore of Virden, IL + us, of course! From right here in Petersburg, IL!
More exciting news - we made it over to a recent city council meeting and asked if they’d let us borrow the street in front of The Studio for the event and guess what! They said yes! This event will be indoor and outdoor this year!
We have several returning vendors and authors + new friends and faces we think you’ll love. Make your plans to spend the weekend exploring our perfect little town. You can walk right around the square while you’re here and find plenty of shops, eats and fun. We invite other area businesses to have book themed specials and deals. Stay tuned to our page and posts in the event for more details!
Our vendors and other local businesses kindly offer up door prizes you will enter to win upon entry at the event. We will draw for winners in the days following the event and will notify winners to make delivery or shipping arrangements.
The Petersburg Public Library will have a children’s lock in event as a childcare option for school aged children 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm. Contact the Library to pre-register your child(ren) by August 20th!
