Award-winning New York Times journalist Susan Dominus returns to Greenlight to launch The Family Dynamic, a deep and moving exploration of the complexity of family life and the rewards—and burdens—of ambition. Inspired by the iconic Brontë sisters, whose remarkable literary success prompted endless speculation, Dominus, the mother of twin teenagers, offers six compelling profiles of contemporary high-achieving families, in search of the factors that led to their success. Woven into these stories is an account of centuries of scientific research into the ongoing question of nature versus nurture, producing a work of journalism that is both elegantly written and extensively researched. Dominus reads from and discusses the book with Emily Nussbaum, local author (Cue the Sun!) and staff writer at The New Yorker, before an audience Q&A and signing.
