Julian Zabalbeascoa presents What We Tried To Bury Grows Here
In conversation with Daniel Loedel
Presenting his first novel on the Greenlight stage is fierce and assured new talent Julian Zabalbeascoa! One of the most anticipated debuts of 2024, What We Tried To Bury Grows Here is a masterly crafted and haunting tale of survival, longing, and empathy, set during the Spanish Civil War. Following two protagonists as they struggle to maintain their humanity in a country determined to tear itself apart, Zabalbeascoa's novel is "a stunning first novel, ambitious, intensely true, certain to be read for a long time" (Phillip Meyer). Joining him onstage is Brooklyn-based author and editor Daniel Loedel (Hades, Argentina) for an in-depth discussion around the book, followed by an audience Q&A and signing.
