About this Event
We are collaborating efforts with 2 of our community partners: Literacy Together & Read To Succeed Asheville and collecting books for children impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Donations can be made in the drop boxes placed near the doors of the Wellness & Opportunity Center or inside the location during business hours (M-F, 9AM-4PM)
Words from Literacy Together: "One of the teachers from an elementary school in Swannanoa called to let us know that she's been visiting the homes of families and kids deeply impacted by Helene, and that one of the top requests she's getting from families who have lost so much is that the kids are asking for books. It warms my heart to know the kids are asking for that - and it is so wonderful that that's something we can help with! We're doing a book drive this month for children in various schools/communities, and it has been so moving to see our community come together!"
