Although The Printed Garden is much more a reader's bookstore than a collector's bookstore, its owner has been handling and selling rare, signed, and antiquarian books both online and out of various bookstores for nearly thirty years.Join us on the evening of Friday, February 20th, for an interactive discussion on the various aspects of collecting books, both new and antiquarian, for fun and profit. Topics covered may include, but are not limited to:
- identification of first editions/printings
- relevant book collector's terminology
- industry book and dust jacket grading
- establishing monetary value of your collection
Originally designed as a presentation, this information has been reworked to offer a more interactive experience. Each person attending should bring one hardcover book from home to use while following along and to value at some point of the night. This event is open to the public and free, however the store will remain open until the end of the evening, should you decide to shop for anything while you're here. We'll start at 7:00 p.m. or very shortly after.
