Join us for an evening discovering and celebrating the book as object!
Trident's owner, Charlotte Ashley, will guide you through an overview of how to identify books, how to conceptualize a collection, how to hunt, what to look for, and why. With hands-on examples, we will delve into the rich world of bibliomania!
This will be a hybrid event. Hands-on attendees with recieve a voucher for a free coffee or tea, as well as a book! Online attendees will be able to watch, listen, and discuss via video chat.
Charlotte Ashley is a writer, book historian, and bookseller based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She won the 2009 National Book Collecting Prize for her collection of the works of Alexandre Dumas, and has published on books, publishing, and collecting in Amphora, the papers of the Bibliographical Society of Canada, the Quill & Quire, and elsewhere. Charlotte is the current owner and operator of Trident Booksellers & Cafe.
