The Summer Series Book Club for 2026 is a little bit different - we're not using a book! Instead, we're using a DVD - Josh Byrne's Permaculture and Organic Gardening DVD, released by the ABC's Gardening Australia.Permaculture focuses on developing innovative strategies for leading a sustainable lifestyle. This includes cultivating local organic food, minimizing energy use, recycling waste, and establishing habitats that support surrounding ecosystems.
In this DVD, Josh Byrne provides a comprehensive and inspirational guide to establishing a productive Permaculture garden. His step-by-step demonstrations present practical methods and techniques that will transform your gardening practices, encouraging a more sustainable and ecological approach to cultivating plants.
The DVD is conveniently divided up into short sections, so we'll watch a few sections each session, interspersed with discussions about each section.
The series runs over four Saturday Mornings in the Benalla Library, Jan 17 & 31, Feb 7 & 21, 9:30 - 11:30, so please ensure you are available before registering.
