This year’s “Boogie on the James” party to be held on August 16-17th at the DoubleTree in Midlothian. Our theme this year is “Wild West Shaggers Roundup”. We’ll have an early bird Saloon party on Thursday night, August 15th for party attendees. The Early Bird Saloon party is open to non-attendees for a cover charge of $10.00. The party will continue through Friday and Saturday. Over the weekend, we’ll enjoy two plated dinners, and two drink tickets for each “Saloon Happy Hour” on Friday and Saturday night in the “Saloon” area near the registration table, followed by an open cash bar each evening. Our guest DJ’s are John Smith and Billy Waldrup, both members of the DJ Hall of Fame. Saturday dance instructors are Mike and Debbie Pace, both members of the Beach National Shaggers Hall of Fame. There will also be a Line Dance class on Saturday afternoon by Mary Ann Lambert, member of Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame.We will have a 50/50 raffle on both Friday and Saturday night, as well as raffling off numerous baskets. These proceeds go towards offsetting the expenses of our BOTJ event, so we appreciate your support. We are also happy to have the ladies from Twinkling Twilight Fairy Hair and back by popular demand, Nanci Donald with Carolina Shag Shoes.
DoubleTree, the RSC Board, and the BOTJ Committee have put considerable effort into developing a 2024 BOTJ party that provides the most “bang for your buck”. Tickets are priced at $140 per person for the Weekend if bought before July 16th. After July 16th the price of a ticket increases to $145. A Saturday only ticket is priced at $90 per person, or $95 after July 16th. Again, this year ticket prices are slightly higher than last year due to the continued increased in food and drink cost.
