Welcome to Boogie on the Beach 2021 – tickets now on sale!The legendary British soul group, The Real Thing, are special guests at the rescheduled Soul, Motown & Disco event, ‘Boogie on the Beach’, which takes place on Sandbanks Beach, as part of the Sandpolo weekend, on the evening of Friday 9th July 2021, from 7pm-1am.
The band were the most successful soul act in England in the 1970s, with hits including, “You to Me Are Everything”, which reached no.1 in the UK singles chart, plus “Can’t Get By Without You”, “Can You Feel The Force” and many more! Off the back of a new movie playing nationally in cinemas, and a greatest hits album out on Universal Records, guests will enjoy a high-energy live show with full band.
The lineup also includes internationally acclaimed 10-piece Motown act, Wonderband, with a ‘back-to-back hits’ show featuring songs from artists including Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, and The Jacksons!
As a special addition, Brit Award winner Shola Ama guests with an exclusive performance, where she will be singing a small selection of her favourite Soul classics, including her cover of Turley Richards’ ‘You Might Need Somebody’, which reached no.4 in the UK chart, remaining in the top 40 for 2 months, becoming one of 1997’s most successful releases.
This totally unique evening of entertainment will commence with London-based flamenco-soul band, Bambaleo, celebrating the music of The Gipsy Kings. The band’s lead singer is from the French Carmague Gipsy family – adding a totally authentic edge to a band that counts HRH Prince of Wales, Richard Branson, David and Victoria Beckham, Henley Regatta and Royal Berkshire Polo Club as clients.
Local legends Jay Rachet, Martyn The Hat, Mike Artwell and Paul Brady are your DJs and hosts for the evening.
With the English Channel as a backdrop, and no shortage of food and drink amongst glamorous company, it’s an intoxicating mix, and the perfect tonic before an evening of dancing until late!
Location: Sandbanks is probably the most exclusive beach community in the UK. The infamous peninsular extends out across Poole Harbour on the scenic Dorset coast. It boasts upmarket luxurious homes and pristine ‘Blue Flag’ beaches. Poole is easily accessible with a fast rail connection (100 minutes direct from London Waterloo), good road access (30 minutes from Southampton) and 2 International airports within 45 minutes.
