We are looking forward to bringing you an evening of great music and meeting new dancers in the community. Social Ballroom, Latin and Swing Dance returns to the Lindenhof of Peoria for the 2025 season.Doors Open at 5:45pm
Social Dance: 6pm to 9pm
Cost: $10 per person
Proceeds from the Dance will go to help offset costs for this young man. Cooper Briggs is a 15 year old freshman at Abingdon-Avon High School. On January 22, 2025 his world was turned upside down with a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Cooper and his mother, Amy, were flown down to St.Jude hospital as soon as they could find a plane and pilot. Treatment was started within 30 minutes of Cooper arriving at St. Jude. Cooper's white blood cell count was so high they could not even start treating the cancer until they could K*ll off his excess white blood cells. Cooper is one of those kids that always has a smile on his face and lots of laughs to share. He is a determined guy when it comes to the things he loves. I had the privilege of being Cooper's soccer coach this past fall. Cooper came into the season knowing he was behind his peers in skill level, but he was determined and worked hard to increase his speed, stamina, and skill. He never gave up and always asked what he could do better. He desired to be a contributing member of the Junior Varsity team, and he worked hard to that end. He has taken on this fight against cancer in much the same way. Despite that pain and discomfort caused by the treatments of his cancer he is determined to beat the AML and get back out on the soccer field once again.
