Professor Steven Stern

Professor Steven Stern is currently Professor of Data Science at Bond University's Centre for Data Analytics. Previously, he was ABS Chair of Statistics at Queensland University of Technology from 2014 to 2016 and prior to that was on the Faculty of the Australian National University for two decades. He received his Bachelors Degree in Mathematics in 1986, his Masters degree in Applied Statistics in 1987 and his PhD in Mathematical Statistics in 1994 all from Stanford University. He is an award-winning teacher, receiving the Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence from ANU in 2002 and has been recognized by the Australian Teaching and Learning Council for his work in statistical education. In addition, he is a highly sought-after data analyst and consultant, having undertaken work for numerous government departments and industry bodies. His research interests cover the full range of data analytics and statistical methodology, but he is probably best known for his work in sports statistics and resampling-based statistical learning techniques.

Dr Andre Barczak

Dr Andre Barczak is an Assistant Professor in Data Analytics at Bond University's Centre for Data Analytics. Andre works in image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and parallel systems. He holds a degree and a master’s in engineering from Unicamp (Brazil) and a PhD in computer science from Massey University (New Zealand). He worked in the industry as a system engineer for IBM and as an academic in Brazil and New Zealand. He has published more than 70 technical articles in international journals and conferences. Recently, he moved to Australia to join the data science group at Bond University.

Professor Ahmed Moustafa

Professor Ahmed Moustafa is a Professor of Psychology and Computational Modelling at Bond University. He conducts research on computational and neuropsychological studies of Parkinson's disease, PTSD, depression, and Alzheimer's disease. he has published over 240 papers in high-ranking journals including Science, PNAS, Journal of Neuroscience, Brain, Neuroscience and Biobehavioural Reviews, Nature (Parkinson's disease), among others.

Professor Julie Redfern

Professor Julie Redfern is a distinguished Professor of Public Health and a Physiotherapist, recognised with an NHMRC Leadership Fellowship. She has been honoured with the NHMRC Elizabeth Blackburn Award for Health Services and leads the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare at Bond University. Her contributions to public health are marked by her role in securing $30M in research grants, publishing over 250 manuscripts, and her active participation in scientific committees like the World Heart Federation. As a mentor, she has guided numerous postdoctoral and HDR students to success, while also contributing to the Franklin Women and European Society of Cardiology Mentoring Programs. Her work with the NHMRC Synergy grant, SOLVE-CHD, underscores her commitment to bridging the gap between evidence and practice in healthcare.
