Fierce & folky Americana indie dance pop + folk duo, presented under the jaw-dropping & artful projections of Monica Rose Kelly.
This show features two prolific, original songwriting groups—Handmade Moments and Bon Bon Vivant—whose songs will be accompanied by the deeply artful projections of Monica Rose Kelly!
May 25th will be a night of sentimentality, sumptuous voices, beautiful horns, deep grooves, acoustic howls, and a bit of unavoidable silliness! The night will open with the ever talented Handmade Moments, a masterfully eclectic duo that somehow chills and warms the listener at the same time! Bon Bon Vivant will follow, singing songs of love, loss, hope and celebration that will leave you filled with joy. We are excited to present the songs and music of two groups deeply rooted in the modern New Orleans music scene at the majestic and storied Marigny Opera House.
Handmade Moments: As performers, Anna Moss and Joel Ludford are loose and goofy, bringing alto sax, bass clarinet, sousaphone, mandolin, guitar, and beatboxing to the mix. As songwriters they are deadly serious on End the Wars, inhabiting dark psyches from American society unrecognizable in pop. What a powerful sign of true artistry, channeling righteous outrage into soulful joy. An insightful and powerful folk duo.
Bon Bon Vivant: BBV is a genre-bending band from New Orleans that pulls from singer-songwriter/pop/Americana/dark ballads and up-tempo indie dance music. BBV's original music is rooted in storytelling and pays homage to a uniquely New Orleans sound while infusing an indie flavor that leaves a lasting mark on listeners. This band's songs are as joyous, fierce, and honest as they are heartbreaking as they celebrate life in minor keys. Fierce and folky Americana indie dance pop group.
