We are excited to welcome Julia Garcia to the museum to share the Bolivian traditions of Day of the Dead with a traditional mast’aku (quecha or ceremonial) table. The table will be set with all of the traditional elements of Bolivia’s Dia de Todos Santos (The Day of All Saints). Learn about tantawawas – bread dolls that are always present and why there are three levels to each table. Ms. Garcia will also share how these traditions are still continued in the Bolivian community in Arlington today. Join us and bring a picture or memento of your loved ones to add to our community ofrenda.
