Overwhelmed during a trip to her birthplace, Bolis wrote a letter to his mother. This letter became the starting point for his first solo album. He now presents that album, and the letter, live.
Bolis Pupul's sound leaves nothing to chance. Born in Belgium as the son of a Chinese mother and Belgian father, Bolis Pupul also searches for the conversation between his Eastern and Western roots in his music. Beyond his identity, his music is also a fusion of cultures. He mixes elevated electronica - think early Mr Fingers-like techno and the exuberant man-machine minimalism of Yellow Magic Orchestra - with the warm and wonky naivety of Belgian New Beat. Bolis Pupul's unique sound is playful, emotional, relentless and tender at the same time.
