Pineapple Road
Indiepop-formatie Pineapple Road is in korte tijd uitgegroeid tot een vaste waarde in hun thuisstad Leiden. Na hun podiumdebuut in 2024 en het behalen van de halve finale van de Nobel Award, zetten ze hun opmars in 2025 voort met optredens bij Club 3voor12 Leiden, Paarspop en de Nacht van Ontdekkingen. 3voor12 vergeleek hun meest recente album, HONEY, met het werk van Parcels en prees de catchy en creatieve producties.
Het typische indiepopgeluid van Pineapple Road doet daarnaast denken aan bands als L’Impératrice en Balthazar. Het titelnummer van Honey bewijst de succesvolle mix van funky gitaren en elektronische productie, een kenmerk dat in veel van hun werk terugkomt. Op het podium tilt de vierkoppige band de composities van hun twee albums naar een nieuw niveau – uiteraard vergezeld door hun iconische, één meter hoge disco-ananas.
