In 2024, we commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the passing of Anicius Manlius Severinus Boëthius (d. 25 October 524 in Pavia, Italy), a pivotal figure bridging the realms of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Boëthius’ multifaceted body of work laid the foundations for European knowledge, philosophy, and culture for centuries to come and left an enduring impact. To honour this significant milestone, the Association for Central European Cultural Studies in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague are hosting an international interdisciplinary symposium on 24–25 October 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic.
