About this Event
The pop-up exhibition features illustrations, comics, watercolors, and acrylic paintings that the artist, comedian, and former stripper created over the course of the pandemic.
“I made these paintings to grieve leaving a career that I loved. Stripping showed me the importance of admiring myself, and relishing in the privilege of looking,” Frances says.
Frances began stripping in 2010 and traveled the world dancing naked for large (and occasionally insultingly modest) sums of money. Author of The Beaver Show (2015) and Striptastic! A Celebration of Dope-Ass Cunts Who Like Money (2017), Frances has toured extensively as a stand-up comedian and recently starred in the film Hustlers (2019).
