BODY MAPPING. A Storytelling workshop

Our identity our story is plural multiple fluid peripatetic sharing our stories is healing empowering uniting a compelling and fun way to talk back to stereotypes and all dynamics of exclusion.

This aims to be a transnational inclusive workshop gathering people from different backgrounds and experiences. In a time in which we assists to the raise of nationalisms and populism around the world where identities are threatened by the very notion of integrity we would like to tell our own story underlining the complexities of the identity experience at the intersection of the plural and how inclusivity starts from relation.

WHY BODY MAPPING? Our body is our first language home country. By tracing a map of our body we are able to tell our own story and share it conscious of the fact that stories are all linked that we are all connected by the “In Between” space that liminal space where perspectives shifts and give us the opportunity to relate to the other and the otherness.

Usually used in Art Therapy in different contexts: PTSD GBV/FGM HIV/AIDS Mental Health in this specific occasion Body Mapping is open to everyone who feels to tell their story. It is a significant approach to one’s story connecting not only our memories to our present but also to transcend experiences by transforming them into generative power.
