BODY LANGUAGE closes out 2024 in spectacular fashion, this time with not one but two very special guests: Machinedrum & Swami Sound.MACHINEDRUM
Machinedrum (Travis Stewart) is a music producer and film composer originally from North Carolina, now residing in California. He is widely considered one of the foremost electronic artists, not only in skill but in influence across his several-decades career.
He has released multiple albums on labels such as Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, LuckyMe, Hotflush and Merck. He has produced for a wide range of vocalists including Azealia Banks, A$AP Ferg, Shelley FKA DRAM, Tanerélle, Jesse Boykins III, Theophilus London and Dawn Richard.
Additionally, Machinedrum has worked alongside producers Jimmy Edgar for their project J-E-T-S, Braille (Praveen Sharma) under their alias Sepalcure, and Om Unit for their rave inspired footwork project Dream Continuum. Travis has also collaborated with instrumentalists like piano virtuoso Tigran Hamasyan, progressive guitarist Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders), versatile drummer Ian Maciak, multi instrumentalist Laura Escudé, and jazz drummer Steve Lyman. Machinedrum has remixed artists such as Solange, Bonobo, Kelis, Rudimental, Jamie Lidell, DJ Shadow, Emily King, Noisia, SBTRKT, The Glitch Mob, Eprom, and even Johnny Cash.
His latest project is his 15th studio album, titled '3FOR82' & released in May 2024. Between drum & bass, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and juke, Stewart weaves in an impressive crew of collaborators on ‘3FOR82’ including Jesse Boykins III, the album’s co-executive producer, plus various contributions from KUČKA, AKTHESAVIOR, Duckwrth, Ezri, Tanerélle, DeniroFarrar, TopazJones, deem spencer, ajamonet, ROZET, WillJohnson, IanMaciak and Tinashe.
Machinedrum is a rarity in dance music. Aside from his chameleon-like ability to skip effortlessly between tempos and styles, he has earned the respect and admiration of his peers and fans alike for his consistently progressive approach to electronic music.
