***This workshop counts as 3 hours towards the Laughing River Yoga 300hr Teacher Training Program.
How is our bodily autonomy supported or challenged in yoga spaces? How might our yoga practice be a path toward feeling, experimenting with, validating, and communicating our boundaries on and off the mat? As humans can and will cause harm, how can we take accountability with grace and openness when our boundaries are crossed or we cross the boundaries of others?
When we feel embodied in our boundaries, what individual and collective power do we have to create a culture of consent in our yoga spaces and daily lives? We will explore these queries through discussion, asana, play, and reflection to co-create a culture of consent, humility, and accountability.
Students will come out of this workshop:
Understanding different types and realms of boundaries and how they intersect with yoga;
Tools to embody and encourage consent culture from a teacher and student perspective;
Discerning how our relationships to various asanas relate to the kleshas, yamas and niyamas, and our embodied experiences.
This workshop is being offered at no additional cost to students currently enrolled in the Laughing River Yoga 200Hr Teacher Training Program and will be held in-person at the Chace Mill.
