Boccia Try It & Pizza Party (8-11 yrs)

TVCC clients are invited to come out and try Boccia!

Boccia is an indoor sport that is fully inclusive for everyone. Boccia is a precision ball sport, similar to outdoor bocce ball, that uses targeting, focus and accuracy.

clients with or without experience are welcome to come out to learn about the game, practice skills, and participate in boccia games with their peers. This Try-It workshop is open to clients with any type of special needs, and is easily adaptable for those with physical disabilities and who use mobility devices. We have different types of adaptive equipment to try out.

Our 1.5 hours of play and practice will be followed by a fun pizza party in the Youth Room!

Through this program, clients will:

• Meet and interact with other TVCC clients their age
• Learn new physical activity skills and how to play Boccia Ball
• Practice social and communication skills through turn taking, group activities, and peer connection

• TVCC clients ages 8-11 yrs
• Able to participate safely in a group; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
• Able to follow along with a group, with or without accommodations
• Interested in and willing to engage in group Boccia Ball games

This program is facilitated by TVCC's Horizons Youth Program and TVCC's Wellness Project. The Wellness Project is a three-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help by running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
