With a childhood tale so sad that it makes her therapist cry, a lonely 25-year-old Lily Trevino (Barbie Ferreira) longs for familial connection and comfort. Turning to social media to pursue her estranged father, Bob Trevino, Lily encounters a different, childless man of the same name. The stranger Bob Trevino (John Leguizamo) starts to like her Facebook posts and the two start up a correspondence.
