From folk music’s fresh new face, to pop’s most important voice, Bob Dylan reshaped music throughout the 60’s, then artfully redefined his musical direction a number of times through the 70’s and 80’s in a successful burst of creativity that explored new personal depths to his songwriting.May is Bob Dylan’s birth month, and this year he turns 84, so we are throwing a huge party to celebrate the man and his music. Join us at Dolan’s Pub on May 29th, as host Brent Mason and an all star cast, including Jessica Rhaye and Ramshackle Parade, Josh Bravener, Peter Hicks (Sleepy Driver), Alan Jeffries and Pretty Western as they hand select personal favourites from his fabled career in an evening that promises a deep dive into the brilliance of Dylan.
Bruce Springsteen said it best when inducting Dylan into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame… ‘Elvis Presley freed my body, but Bob Dylan freed my mind.’
