American folksinger and rock-and-roll icon Bob Dylan is one of the greatest figures of the 20th century. Regarded as “the poet’s poet” by RollingStone in 1974, this 10-time Grammy award winner emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s, earning a reputation as a perceptive, powerful songwriter. From his breakout and smashingly successful album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, in 1963 to his 2020 album inspiring this tour, Rough and Rowdy Ways, Dylan has sold tens of millions of albums over the years: even winning a Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016 "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
Over 18 months during his career, he released Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde on Blonde, a trio of records that broadened the vocabulary of rock and roll, placing Dylan at the cutting edge of popular culture.
Dylan is a household name that spans generations whose narrative-style ballads and stream-of-consciousness lyrics have held the grip of millions since the 1960s with songs like “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” “Like a Rollin’ Stone,” “Tangled Up In Blue,” and “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” Bob Dylan’s career has lasted the better part of 50 years now and he continues to evolve and push his work ahead. Bob Dylan now brings his iconic and timeless sound of the Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour to Omaha.
