Bob Boehmer joins us Saturday, April 27th from 1-3pm with his two books, The Path to Grave Danger and The House of Well-Kept Secrets.
E.M.MAUS BURROW MYSTERIES, THE PATH TO GRAVE DANGER, is a children's book that tells the story of the history of a town in Pennsylvania, but with a twist. That's because, even though this unique and imaginative tale takes place in the historic Borough of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, the actual story is told from the other Burrow of E.M.Maus, an underground colony inhabited by very intelligent mice.
As we all know, our world above ground is a very strange place where everything comes in different and diverse shapes and sizes. So, it makes perfect sense that in an old town like Emmaus, these mysterious Maus hideaways come in all shapes and sizes too. Some are big and easy to find, but the very best are small and hard to spot. That tiny hole in the wall over there could lead to one, or maybe it's that creepy crevice behind the old toys and stinky socks in your bedroom closet.
Don't worry, you have nothing to fear. These are merely peaceful portals to a bustling subterranean community, the historic Burrow of E.M.Maus, where enchanted entrances to a nocturnal world are hidden in plain sight.
The adventure continues with Book two, The House of Well-Kept Secrets, where the curious little band of mice set out on a night class field mouse trip to The Shelter House, a colonial log cabin, in a quest for more history mystery clues.
From start to finish these twisted E.M.Maus tales have deadly dangers around every bend in the trail and dire disasters nipping at their toes. There are short poems throughout the books that help enhance the historical lessons in a fun and unique way.
The E. M. Maus Burrow Mysteries book series is enjoyable for any age, with readability for ages Third Grade to Middle School.
Bob Boehmer, Artist, Illustrator, Teacher, Writer, and Dreamer still finds inspiration to create his original art and now books from the small historic Borough of Emmaus, where he lives, and the rural Pennsylvania countryside where he grew up. For as long as he can remember, Bob has been drawing wildlife and painting landscapes. Some of Bob's fondest childhood memories are of the times he spent wandering through the woods and streams around his boyhood home. As an art teacher for thirty-eight years, and the project coordinator for the Space Shuttle Blake Project, Bob combined his love for art education from Kutztown University, where he received both his B. S. and M. Ed. degrees, and his passion for aerospace science to stimulate and challenge all those who have the courage to imagine. While working with NASA education and the space shuttle program for over twenty years, Bob also received national recognition for integrating science, math, art, and technology. His professional awards include the 1993 Finalist for Pennsylvania's Teacher Of The Year, The Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Math Teaching, The U.S. Space Academy Wings Teaching Award, The NASA Teacher in Space Program Award, and the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Award.
