About this Event
As part of Black History Month, the Boathouse Community Cinema is proud to show this digitally restored classic film from 1976.
Recognised as the UK's first Black dramatic feature-length film, Pressure is a gritty and dynamic study of a generation in crisis, and the problems of being torn between two cultures.
The film is an uncompromising look at the challenges of growing up Black in Britain, and is as relevant today as when it was released in 1976.
The film's Director, Horace Ove, sadly died last year. His daughter, Indra Ove, will be attending the screening to introduce the film. Indra is a well know actor in her own right, appearing in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Interview with the Vampire, The Fifth Element and numerous TV shows. We are delighted to welcome her to The Boathouse.
Before and after the screening there will be a chance to chat and mingle in our affordable bar.
On-site parking is free after 6pm.
