This Boat America course is an introduction to safe boating laws and regulations, personal safety and the safety of passengers, the type and use of safety equipment, trailering, storing of your boat, and proper techniques of anchoring and securing your boat at the dock. The course is required by law for anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, to operate a powerboat or PWC. The 8-hour course runs 8am to 5pm and is taught by the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 98 Charlotte Harbor. There will be a 60-question test following the course and those who complete it successfully will receive a lifetime card from Florida Fish and Wildlife.
