Beaches Museum welcomes Mark Woods, columnist for The Florida Times-Union, to share about spending one year in the national parks, working on a project about the future of the parks, and how it renewed his appreciation for the national park in his own backyard, the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. His journey started with a January 1st sunrise in Maine's Acadia National Park and ended with a December 31st sunset in Hawaii's Haleakala National Park. In the middle of the journey, Mark lost his mother—an event that changed the year, his project and subsequent book, “Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America's National Parks.” A book signing will follow the presentation.

This event will take place in-person at Beaches Museum with limited attendance, social distancing and masks required. It will also be available virtually through Zoom.
This event is free to Museum members with a $5 suggested donation for non-members. For more information and to register for this event please call 904-241-5657 or visit www.beachesmuseum.com.
