If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then get thee to Component for our first in a series designed to gently introduce popular gaming mechanics so that players can feel more confident picking up new games in any situation.
Our first session will focus on deck building, a mechanic that allows players to select cards from a pool and add them to their deck, with the aim of increasing their own score as well as disrupting their opponents' strategy. Dominion is the mother of all deck building games. It's set in medieval times, with players taking the role of monarchs attempted to build the most powerful... ah.... dominion around. Once we go over the rules, games typically take around 30 minutes to play.
While I will have the base game set up to teach, there will be several expansions available to play as well! Newcomers are welcome to learn while more experienced players play on their own nearby. ALL who game (i.e., with me or separately) will reap the reward of $1 off all taps and be entered to win a copy of the Dominion Big Box, sponsored by our friends at Rio Grande!
