At the centre of this transformation is Brisbane Airport’s FUTURE BNE program, a $5 billion private investment in new terminals, commercial hubs, hotels, and transport links designed to meet the State’s growing passenger, freight and tourism demands.
FUTURE BNE represents one of the largest single precinct redevelopments in Queensland, aligning directly with the State’s record $127.5 billion construction pipeline, as revealed in the Queensland Major Contractors Association’s (QMCA) 2025 Major Projects Pipeline Report.
But this opportunity comes with real challenges. To deliver on its promise, Queensland’s construction and engineering sectors will need an additional 15,000 skilled workers and a renewed focus on productivity, technology and smarter delivery models.
