Have you ever been excited for the first day of summer, only to be disappointed when it arrives cold and rainy? For First Nations People, the seasons don’t change when the calendar does. Instead, changes in plants, animals, water, weather and the stars mark the start of a new season.
In this session of reading and drawing, join local illustrator to develop a deeper connection with the land, waters and skies, drawn from her work on the Ask Aunty books with Aunty Munya Andrews. Get a sneak peak of Charmaine and Aunty Munya’s new book about bush survival skills, then contribute to a large, collaborative mural celebrating local Dharug seasons.
Kids will also enjoy a reading by , author of Yanga Mother, a timely and poetic celebration of motherhood and First Nations languages.

Tickets for this event are free, however, registration is required to manage room capacity. At least one carer should accompany children at this event: please include adults and child(ren) when you register. Registration will open at 10:00 am on 10 September, and spaces are strictly limited.
