About this Event

LSU composer Mara Gibson will discuss her creative process in several recent composition projects, including her newest album, Unseen World. She will discuss how she composes by specifically breaking down her creative approach using both abstract and concrete materials. Tuba professor Charlie Goodman will join her to demonstrate some techniques she uses in her piece Fight||Flight. Described as “strikingly imaginative” (Fanfare), her work aims to blur boundaries between seemingly opposing musical parameters, often inspired by visual art and nature.
