“Working together to create magic”
As partner dancers, our goal is to create a strong communication channel from one body to the next so that we can execute interesting and diverse movements together as a team. In blues dance we honor the individual movements of our partners while at the same time working with each other to create a unique and personal dance.
What are our options for creating a flexible frame that is both responsive and dynamic? How do we lead and follow signals clearly while still executing our own movements? How do I know when my partner is ready to do something together when they are dancing themselves?
Let’s dive into these nitty gritty details of giving and receiving information through the dance. These tools can only lead to more creative and exciting social dances for everyone!
Schedule: (tentative)
11:00am - 11:30am: Check-in - 16th Floor (must present ID to enter the building)
11:30am - 3:30pm: Workshop. Breaks will be introduced at natural stopping points during the class.
3:30pm - 4:00pm: Open practice
