About Your Teachers
* Aimee * loves dancing: magical connection, playful back-and-forth, and musical masterpieces. Beginning her journey with Blues in LA in 2007, she names Damon Stone and Brenda Russell as significant influences. Her classes focus on Blues as an African American artform and invite each dancer to deepen their relationship with Blues music, culture, and aesthetic. With an eye for detail and a keen intuition for how to help dancers level up their movement and connection, her classes invite you to uncover new dimensions in your dancing.
* John * is a seasoned Blues dance instructor and All-Star level dance competitor from Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a passion for Blues, Latin, Fusion, Swing, and beyond. He has taught locally and abroad since 2011, inspiring dancers to immerse themselves in the music, move with greater self-awareness, and cultivate an authentic connection with themselves and their partners.
John runs a fun, lighthearted classroom, and enjoys working with beginner dancers, instructors, and everyone in-between. His classes will challenge you to strengthen your musicality, your body awareness, your quality of movement, and most importantly, push you to express yourself authentically.
* Felix Gato Peralta * is a Chicano singer-songwriter, skilled at vocals, guitar, accordion, and harmonica. Hailing from New Mexico, his music reflects the soul of the Southwest. With songs featured in Netflix and PBS films, Gato's captivating performances have earned him recognition at the Kennedy Center's Arts Across America program.
